This page describes what information CountyTaxTools collects, how contact submissions are handled, and how links to external sites work.
What This Site Is
CountyTaxTools.com is a static reference site. It publishes verified county-level tax data for property tax, vehicle personal property tax, and sales tax across U.S. jurisdictions. The site does not offer services, require accounts, or process transactions of any kind.
There are no user accounts. There is no login system. There are no forms that collect personal information as part of normal site use.
Server Logs and Analytics
Like most websites, CountyTaxTools.com is served from a web host that maintains standard server access logs. These logs record information such as IP addresses, browser type, referring URL, and pages accessed. This is standard hosting infrastructure behavior and is not unique to this site.
We use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) to understand how pages are accessed in aggregate - which pages receive traffic, how users navigate the site, and which content is most useful. Google Analytics collects data such as IP address, device and browser type, referring URL, and pages visited, and processes it on Google's infrastructure. Advertising and Engagement (Mediavine / Grow.me)
CountyTaxTools.com is an advertising-supported site. We work with Mediavine, an advertising management partner, to sell and serve the ads that appear on these pages. Two Mediavine scripts run on the site: the Mediavine ad manager (loaded from scriptwrapper.com), which requests and displays advertising, and the Grow.me script (loaded from grow.me), which powers reader-engagement features.
To fill ad space, Mediavine runs a real-time auction among advertising partners each time a page loads. These partners include Google (through Google Ad Manager and Google's advertising exchanges) and a rotating set of independent advertising exchanges and demand partners. Mediavine, Google, and these partners may set their own cookies and use similar technologies - including third-party and cross-site cookies, device identifiers, and local storage - and may collect data such as IP address, device and browser information, general (non-precise) location, the pages you view, and how you interact with ads. This information is used to select which ads to show you, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance, and to detect fraud and invalid traffic. Depending on your location and your choices, some of this advertising may be personalized or interest-based.

This advertising data is collected and processed by Mediavine and its partners under their own privacy practices, not by us. We do not receive the personal information these partners collect, and we do not combine it with anything else. Cookies
CountyTaxTools.com uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: (1) Google Analytics sets first-party analytics cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to measure aggregate site usage; (2) Grow.me / Mediavine and its advertising partners set cookies - including third-party and cross-site cookies - to power engagement features and to serve and measure advertising; and (3) basic cookies needed for the site to function. The analytics cookies do not contain personal information you have provided to us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on, and manage advertising choices as described under Your Privacy Choices below.
The Virginia car tax calculator at /calculators/virginia-car-tax/ runs entirely in your browser. No inputs you enter into the calculator are transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere outside your browser session.
Contact Submissions
The only personal information we receive is what you voluntarily provide when you contact us - for example, when submitting a correction to a tax rate or fact on this site. Contact is handled by email at Contact@CountyTaxTools.com.
Information submitted by email is used solely to review and respond to the submission. We do not share email correspondence with third parties, add senders to marketing lists, or use contact submissions for any purpose other than addressing the specific message received.

CountyTaxTools.com links to official government websites - county assessor offices, treasurer pages, state department of taxation sites, and similar sources - as the authoritative references for the tax data published on this site. These external sites have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle visitors.
We do not control external sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Links to government sources are provided for reference and verification, not as endorsements of those sites' full content.
Children
CountyTaxTools.com is a tax reference site intended for adult use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us at Contact@CountyTaxTools.com and we will remove it.

CountyTaxTools.com is intended for a United States audience. We do not sell your personal information for money.
